Are professionals verified?
Right now, what a professional lists is self-declared. We check the profile is complete before it goes live and confirm the email address. We are not running identity, credential or background checks yet, and we will say so plainly on the profile rather than imply otherwise.
Which services will be available at launch?
Pontio launches with everyday home and personal services, starting with categories such as plumbers, handyman work, home cleaning, babysitting, dog walking, and similar local needs. A few regulated categories, like electricians, join later once Pontio can verify the authorization the law requires for them.
Where is Pontio launching first?
Pontio launches in Bucharest and Ilfov county first. We will expand to more of Romania as more professionals join and local coverage grows.
Can I book already, or is access opening soon?
Pontio is currently in early access. You can join the waitlist now to hear first when the app launches, when access opens in your area, and when we share updates or promotional offers.
How do prices work? Do I know the price before booking?
Professionals set their own prices and show them on their services. Some services have a fixed price you see upfront; for jobs that need assessing first, you describe the job, the professional sends you an offer, and you approve the exact total before the booking exists. Any later price change needs your agreement.
Is Pontio free? How does Pontio make money?
Joining and using Pontio is free, and there is no Pontio fee in the first phase — you pay the professional directly, and professionals keep what they charge. Later, Pontio may introduce a platform fee for completed bookings, per category; any fee will always be shown clearly before you confirm a booking.
How do reviews work on Pontio?
A review can only be left after a completed booking through Pontio — no anonymous or paid reviews. That means ratings build up from real appointments after launch, and professionals can reply publicly to the reviews they receive.
Who is responsible for the service — Pontio or the professional?
Pontio is the platform that connects you: we check profiles are complete before they go live and keep booking and communication in one place. The service contract is directly between you and the professional, who is responsible for the work itself. If something goes wrong, you can report it to the Pontio team from the app.
